Nothing To Undo
A group of 12 mixed media collages based on timed exposure stills from the 1975 film Jaws directed by Steven Spielberg.
The stimulus images are taken from a 2 minute sequence in which a young boy is attacked and the subsequent realization by his mother that he is missing when he fails to return from the water.
The work engages scales of loss, from immediate pulse increasing alarm to gradual protracted realizations of absence. Inconsistency and unreliability of individual memory are rendered in hazy approximation, blending fictional and circumstantial truths.
