Animal Precedents
A speculative series of paintings related to Homology - the relationship between sets of pairs. Specifically homologous structures are adapted by animals for different purposes, like the wing of a bat and the arms of primates deriving from a common ancestor.
Analogous to the history of bodies, the squirming, fluttering, biting, competitive embryonic tissue transforms to limbs, organs and brains. Physically explicit forms emerge from a sludge of hereditary parts. Tense and hidden energy transforms to matter, the dark related past diverges in unpredictable ways.
